Bellator Real Estate & Development was formed in January of 2008 by its Founder and CEO, Nathan Cox. Bellator has quickly grown from a one man operation to one of the largest Real Estate Companies in Baldwin County by producing over $150,000,000 in closed volume in 2012. Nathan was the top individual producer in Baldwin County last year with over $80,000,000 in closed volume per the Baldwin County MLS. He is a licensed Broker in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi and manages well over $100M in real estate assets held in various investment groups managed or represented by Nathan.The largest investment entity he is engaged with is Gulf Coast Opportunities Fund, LP ("GCOF"), which is a private equity real estate fund formed to acquire real estate at distressed prices along the Gulf Coast of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi with a focus on raw land and developed residential real estate in Baldwin County, Alabama. Nathan is a member of the General Partner and is responsible for sourcing and managing real estate assets for the Fund as well as serving on the Fund’s Investment Committee. GCOF rose over $60,000,000 in less than 90 days in the fall of 2012 before closing out the fund to new investment. Assets purchased by the fund currently span from Panama City, FL to the Eastern Shore of Baldwin County, AL.
Nathan graduated from the University of Alabama summa cumme laude in the spring of 2004 with a degree in investment finance and economics. While at the university he played football from 2000 to 2003 earning Academic All SEC Honors in both 2002 and 2003, and was recognized with the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award his senior year as the university’s most outstanding student athlete.
After graduation Nathan joined the United States Marine Corps and served as an Infantry Officer from 2004 to 2007. During his time in the Marines he deployed to Iraq with 3rd Battalion 6th Marines as a Rifle Platoon Commander, and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with combat “V” for Valor in recognition of his actions while in combat. Upon receiving a Honorable Discharge as a 1st Lieutenant he returned home to Spanish Fort, Alabama to begin a career in real estate.
Nathan earned his "pin" by becoming a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in October of 2010. The CCIM program identifies “a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate”. He was inducted into the Inaugural Class of Mobile Bay Monthly's "Forty Under 40" in 2010 at the age of 28, has been recognized with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Leadership Award, and received his MBA from University of South Alabama in the spring of 2013.
Nathan is presently leading the effort to build the "Fallen Heroes Memorial" at the USS Alabama Battleship Park to honor all those our great state has lost since 9/11. They have now raised in excess of $165,000 towards the project and anticipate having it complete in the spring of 2014. In addition to his work in the community he also presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, the Alabama Center for Real Estate, and the Cox Family Foundation.
Nathan and his lovely wife Kimberly were married in 2008 and are the proud parents of two little girls, Savannah Grace and Scarlett Rayne, as well as a newborn son, Nathan “Luke”, Jr.
